Your Difficult Conversation Is Coming. Be Ready For It.
What oomou is
oomou is a social intelligence simulator built around Hard talks. Instead of a personality questionnaire, it runs a live spoken conversation with an AI counterpart who pushes back the way a real manager, colleague or interviewer would, then coaches you on what you said and what you could have said instead.
Every Hard Talks drill is free to run and shows its score, with no card needed. oomou also runs a scored Social IQ Test across six workplace scenarios; for now that is assigned by recruiters and organisations and used in our research study, rather than sold to individuals.
Hard talks made easy
Practise difficult workplace conversations with our AI interviewer that listens, pushes back, and gives instant feedback. There are no trick questions and no right answers: each scenario is a genuine dilemma where every option costs something.
The interviewer voices the person applying the pressure — the manager suggesting nobody will check, the colleague asking you to keep it simple — so you have to answer a person, not a hypothetical. It then asks follow-up questions aimed at the part of your answer you skated over.
What gets measured
Six dimensions, each inspired by one factor of the HEXACO personality model, each probed by its own scenario: Authenticity (Honesty-Humility), Emotional Depth (Emotionality), Social Awareness (Agreeableness), Narrative Clarity (Conscientiousness), Openness (Openness to Experience), and Communicative Confidence (Extraversion).
Scoring rewards a specific committed action, the concrete words you would say, and a cost you acknowledge and accept. Stating the right intent abstractly — "I would communicate openly", "I would stay calm" — is the most common answer and is deliberately scored mid-range, because it commits to nothing. Length and polish earn nothing on their own.
Your conversation is analysed anonymously
Your name, employer, school, location, age and any demographic detail you mention are stripped out and replaced with neutral tags before any scoring model reads a word, so you are scored on what you said rather than who you are.
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored in the EU, and handled under GDPR. Your profile, transcript and report are private to your account and go to nobody unless you send them. Voice audio is not retained. You can export or delete everything from your profile at any time.
Sign-in is a one-time six-digit code emailed to you. No password is stored, so there is nothing to reuse, guess, or lose in a breach.
What it costs
Free to start: every Hard Talks drill with its score and grade, with no card required. Starter is $29 per month, or $10 per month billed annually ($120 per year), and unlocks the full review on every Hard Talk, past drills included. Teams pay $188 a month plus $10 per employee per month, from 50 employees, with four hours of Hard Talks each. The Social IQ Test is not sold to individuals; it runs when a recruiter or an organisation assigns it.
Where oomou is today
oomou is an early-stage beta. Scores are AI-generated estimates from a single conversation and have not been scientifically validated — no reliability, predictive-validity or bias studies have been run, and the dimensions are inspired by the HEXACO model rather than an implementation of it. Validating the traits is the current research priority.
Results are intended for self-development. oomou’s Terms prohibit using a score as the sole basis for a hiring, promotion or termination decision.
